Copperhead is strategically set up to control the entire lifecycle of its Indian sandalwood product from beginning, to end.
PLANTATION
Every product we create is traced back to a single origin, with all our Indian sandalwood trees sustainably grown from seedlings at our plantations across the far north of Australia.
Harvest
Once our trees have aged 15+ years, they are meticulously harvested, and the precious timber logs are transported to our processing facility in Perth, Western Australia.
Primary Processing
Each Indian sandalwood log is sorted and graded by our resident experts. Sapwood is removed and finished by hand to eliminate wastage, with the remaining heartwood processed into powder or chips.
Distillation
Finally, the sandalwood is carefully steam distilled into the unmistakably fragrant, ‘gold standard’ oil Copperhead is renowned for. One of the by-products of the distillation is the valuable sandalwood hydrosol (water infused with sandalwood), which can also be used for end-market skincare and medicinal products.

HALAL
Certified by Halal Australia, our oil, powder, and hydrosol meet the Halal Australia Halal Quality Assurance requirements.
Our products are received and stored, manufactured, packaged, labelled, stored, and dispatched in compliance with the Halal Australia Scheme and Halal Principles as per GSO/UAE 2055-1 Standards that comply with the Islamic dietary law.
Australian made and grown
Our Indian sandalwood products are certified as Australian Made and Grown by the Australian Made Campaign (AMCL).
With the native Indian sandalwood population endangered and illegally harvested and illegitimate Indian sandalwood rife in the market, this certification proves that our Indian sandalwood products are coming from sustainable Australian plantations in the far north of Australia.
